‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ Turns 30: See Photos Of The Cast Then & Now

It’s Morphin time! Several of the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ stars are uniting for the 30th anniversary Netflix special. See photos of the beloved cast then and now.

To honor the 30th anniversary of the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ franchise, Netflix released ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always’ on April 19. The reunion unites original Rangers and some of their successors as they face a familiar threat from the past.

Returning Rangers include David Yost as Blue Ranger/Billy Cranston, Walter Emanuel Jones as Black Ranger/Zack Taylor, Catherine Sutherland as Pink Ranger/Kat Hillard, Steve Cardenas as Red Ranger/Rocky DeSantos, Johnny Yong Bosch as Black Ranger/Adam Park, and Karan Ashley as Yellow Ranger/Aisha Campbell. The movie also stars Charlie Kersh as Minh Kwan, the daughter of Trini Kwan, the original Yellow Ranger. Thuy Tran, who played Trini, tragically died in a car accident in 2001.

‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ became a global phenomenon in the 1990s with several shows, films, and more. Take a look at some of the Power Rangers then and now, even some who weren’t able to return.

Steve Cardenas is back as Red Ranger/Rocky DeSantos in ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.’ Steve became the second Red Ranger after Jason Lee Scott. He also became the Blue Zeo Ranger in ‘Power Rangers Zeo.’ The martial artist and actor is now 48.

Walter Emanuel Jones returns as the Black Ranger/Zack Taylor in ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.’ He made history as the first Black Ranger. Walter recently had a cameo in the 2023 ‘House Party’ reboot. Walter is now 52.

Johnny Young Bosch reprises his role of the Black Ranger/Adam Park in the Netflix special. He became the second Black Ranger after Walter Emanuel Jones. Since those early ‘Power Rangers’ days, Johnny has become a major voice actor. He’s now 47.

Amy Jo Johnson

Amy Jo Johnson was the first Pink Ranger. She played Kimberly Hart in the ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers’ TV series from 1993 and 1995. She also starred in the 1995 feature film. The 52-year-old did not return for ‘Mighty Morphin Power Rangers: Once & Always.’

Jason David Frank

Jason David Frank was originally the Tommy Oliver/Green Ranger, but he was brought back as the White Ranger. He starred in the original ‘Power Rangers’ TV series, the first feature film, and additional films and series. The actor tragically died by suicide at the age of 49 in November 2022.
