Peggy Lipton smiled at the Stella McCartney presentation in Los Angeles on Jan. 16, 2018. The actress was born on August 30, 1946 in New York City. She was born Jewish, and raised on Long Island with brothers Robert and Kenneth. Her first acting credit was at 19 years old on ‘The John Forsythe Show’ in 1965. She rose to fame on ‘The Mod Squad,’ playing a hippie police offer. She got four Emmy nominations and a Golden Globe win for Best TV Actress in a Drama. Peggy was also in the beloved show ‘Twin Peaks.’
She dated Paul McCartney before meeting and marrying Quincy Jones in 1974. The two had daughters Rashida and Kidada, and divorced in 1990.
