Pauly D stops by the HollywoodLife offices in New York to talk about ‘Marriage Bootcamp’ and ‘Jersey Shore Family Vacation.” His real name is Paul D. DelVecchio Jr. and he rocked to fame in 2009 as a cast member of MTV’s ‘Jersey Shore’ after producers saw his MySpace account and liked his look. He later revealed “The casting directors called me from LA and they said they wanted to send down a camera crew to Rhode Island to film a day in my life. They filmed me at the gym, filmed me tanning and filmed me going to the club. Six months later they said I got on the show. I never really auditioned.” He went on to become a reality TV staple, getting a ‘Jersey Shore’ spinoff in 2012 called ‘The Pauly D Project’ which focused on his career as a DJ. In 2016 he appeared on E!’s reality show ‘Famously Single’ where he met future girlfriend, singer Aubrey O’Day. The couple would go on to appear on ‘Marriage Boot Camp: Reality Stars,” later breaking up in July of 2017. He returned to MTV with ‘Jersey Shore: Family Vacation’ and got another spinoff with the 2019 dating show ‘Double Shot at Love With DJ Pauly D and Vinny.’
