Miss America 2023: Photos — Miss America has been crowned! After a night of glamour, talent, and on-stage interviews, Miss Wisconsin’s Grace Stanke was named 2023’s winner during the celebration at the Mohegan Sun casino, in Uncasville, Connecticut on Dec. 15, 2022.

New Miss America Grace Stanke was struck with emotion as she faced the audience after being crowned Miss America 2023. She carried a giant bouquet of red roses and had on a glittering tiara. Grace is a University of Wisconsin nuclear engineering student who plays violin.

Along with the title, Miss America has won a $100k scholarship. Miss New York Taryn Delanie Smith was crowned first runner-up, while Miss Texas Averie Bishop was named second runner-up.

Miss America Gets Crowned — Grace spoke about her passion for topics like nuclear energy during the final question segment of the evening. She talked about being authentic to herself while will being a voice for “the women who can.”

Before winning, she said, “As Miss America, I am representing this organization. If they ask further questions, I am able to preface saying, ‘This isn’t the organization’s point of view, this is my personal point of view as Grace Stanke’ and I can go on to state it — especially when it comes to things like nuclear energy and so many other hot political topics.”
