Throughout his career — Michael was nominated for an Academy Award six times with his first nomination in 1966 for his performance in ‘Alfie.’ Michael won the Oscar for Best Supporting Actor twice – once in 1987 for his role in ‘Hannah and her Sisters’ and then in 2000 for his role in the film ‘The Cider House Rules.’ Michael was officially knighted by Queen Elizabeth in 2000. Michael has been married to his current wife, Shakira Baksh, for over 50 years and the couple shares a daughter, Natasha, together.
