Marina Joyce joined YouTube in 2010 and nearly a decade later, she skyrocketed to more than 2.1 million subscribers thanks to regular uploads about beauty, fashion, and other lifestyle videos. The social media star hails from London.
A few odd videos led Marina’s fans to work up a number of conspiracy theories about a potential kidnapping or hostage situation in 2016. In July of that year, a gun could be seen in the background of a since-deleted makeup tutorial. The worries doubled after fans claimed they could see bruises on her arm and hear the words “help me” in the video “VIDEO DATE IDEAS,” shared in Oct. 2016. Marina initially brushed off the marks as bruises from adventures to the forest and park.
By March 2017, Marina confessed that was actually suffering from ‘depression’ in the video ‘SAVING MARINA JOYCE.’ Thanks to the hashtag of the same name, the YouTuber decided to ‘get better.’ But fans were back to second-guessing Marina’s wellbeing after police reported that she was missing in Aug. 2019.
