Marcia is known as an actress who has appeared in numerous films and television series. She got her start in soap operas and appeared on many of the popular ones, including ‘The Edge of Night’, ‘Another World’, and ‘One Life to Live.’ Her spotlight became bigger when she played the role of Dr. Kimberly Shaw on ‘Melrose Place’ from 1992-1997 and then the role of Bree Van de Kamp on ‘Desperate Housewives’ from 2004-2012.

Her acting talents have been recognized with numerous award nominations, including three Golden Globe Award nominations in the Best Actress in a Musical or Comedy category and a Primetime Emmy Award in the Outstanding Lead Actress in a Comedy Series category.

She gave birth to fraternal twin daughters Eden and Savannah in 2007 at the age fo 44 after undergoing in vitro fertilization treatments.
