“March For Our Lives” is a nationwide, student led demonstration against gun violence that was formed in 2018 after the tragic shooting in Parkland, Florida. According to its website, it organized the largest single day protest against gun violence in history.

The movement is “dedicated to promoting civic engagement, education, and direction action by youth to eliminate the epidemic of gun violence.” It also “aim[s] to create safe and healthy communities and livelihoods where gun violence is obsolete.”

Now after the tragic shooting in Uvalde, Texas, more March for Our Lives protests formed on June 11, 2022 in both Austin, Texas and Washington DC. Here, a large crowd is pictured protesting in Austin.

In the gathering, one woman holds up a sign that states the statistic that “Firearms are the #1 leading cause of death for American children and teens. Is your child next?” While a young girl holds up another sign next to her that chillingly says “Will I Die Wearing My Backpack?”

Throughout the demonstration, thousands call for action to be taken from US Senators for gun control in America. Click through our gallery to see more powerful photos during the March for Our Lives rallies from dedicated protesters.
