Octavia Spencer shines as a hilariously sinister party host who goes off the rails in the new horror film from her ‘The Help’ director Tate Taylor, ‘Ma’. The film’s synopsis reads: “A lonely woman befriends a group of teenagers and decides to let them party at her house. Just when the kids think their luck couldn’t get any better, things start happening that make them question the intention of their host.” Sue Ann, aka ‘Ma’, is a quiet veterinary assistant who offers to buy a group of teens — McKaley Miller, Gianni Paolo, Dante Brown, Corey Fogelmanis, and Diana Silvers — alcohol and offer them a place to drink underage. They accept, and deeply regret it after what starts to occur. Ma isn’t who she seems, and it may cost them their lives. ‘Ma’ is in theaters on May 31, 2019.
