From the underground to going worldwide, Lucky Chops is here – and it’s time to feel the vibe. The NYC-based brass band effortlessly waves genres and traditions together to produce a vibrant sound that will make any body move. Formed when members met in high school at the LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts, the band went viral in 2014. A video of their performance in the New York City subway, at the Herald Square D/B/M/F station, captured the attention of the world as they merged James Brown’s “I Feel Good” with “Funkytown” by Lips. Inc. A year after this video went viral, the group released their first album. Four years later, they followed it with their self-titled 2019 release, one that saw the band build on their sound. Working in different influences – from Turkish music to ska to EDM production – Lucky Chops is a kick to the happy, an espresso shot for the soul, the soundtrack to a smile.
