‘Laverne & Shirley,’ Played By Cindy Williams & Penny Marshall — ‘Laverne & Shirley’ hit the airwaves in 1976, and it lasted an impressive eight seasons, until 1983. Starring Cindy Williams, who passed away on January 30, 2023, and Penny Marshall, who passed away on December 17, 2018, the show was a spinoff of ‘Happy Days,’ the Ron Howard and Henry Winkler led sitcom set in the 50s and 60s. And it was a big hit. By its third season, Nielsen ratings showed it being the most-watched American TV sitcom.

It was so popular, in fact, that merchandise including dolls, a Shotz brewery delivery van by Matchbox, coloring books, and jigsaw puzzles were produced. Take a look back at the nostalgic ‘Laverne and Shirley,’ one of television’s most beloved and hilarious duos.
