‘La Reina del Sur’ — Kate del Castillo returns for season 2 of the hit Telemundo series ‘La Reina del Sur’ after 8 years. Kate’s character, Teresa Mendoza, disappeared 8 years ago under the United States Government’s witness protection after having politically sunk the Mexican presidential candidate Epifanio Vargas. She’s lived in anonymity as Maria Dantes while raising her daughter, Sofia. Suddenly, Teresa is thrust back into the action when Sofia disappears. Her godfather, Epifanio, calls Teresa to let her know that Sofia has been brought to Mexico and she must go get her. Teresa returns to Mexico after 15 years to meet again with Don Epifanio, who reveals the reason she kidnapped Sofia. Teresa has no option but to do whatever it takes to save her daughter. The series also stars Isabella Sierra, Eric Roberts, Humberto Zurita, Mark Tacher, Emmanuel Orenday, and more. ‘La Reina del Sur’ season 2 will air Tuesdays at 10 p.m. on Telemundo.
