Kathy Hochul has worked in politics nearly her entire adult life. Few politicians have held as many and as varied positions, as she has. Shortly after she received her law degree from the Catholic University of America, Hochul began working as an aide to New York Rep. John LaFalce and then, Senator Daniel Moynihan, until she moved back to New York in 1991 to start a family with her husband William Hochul.
Throughout her career, Hochul has held many different offices, including County Clerk for Eerie County, Representative for the 26th District of New York, and most recently Lieutenant Governor of New York. In light of New York Governor Andrew Cuomo’s sexual harassment allegations, many people have called for the governor to resign. If Cuomo steps down or is impeached, Hochul will take his place as the governor.
