If it happens in Washington D.C., then Kasie Hunt is on top of it. The host of MSNBC’s KasieDC and NBC News Capitol Hill correspondent has covered the highs and lows of American politics. The native of Wayne, Pennsylvania graduated magna cum laude from George Washington University in 2006. She gained her master’s degree in sociology from St. John’s College, Cambridge, afterward. She started her career in journalism as an intern at NBC News’ political unit. She worked as a health policy reporter for National Journal’s CongressDaily, right in time to cover the Affordable Care Act. She worked for Politico, the Associated Press, and covered Mitt Romney’s 2012 presidential campaign. She joined NBC News in 2013 as an off-air reporter and producer. She started appearing regularly on MSNBC and in November 2014, she became a political correspondent. In October 2017, she began anchoring her own MSNBC show, Kasie DC.
She wed NBC Digital producer Matt Rivera in May 2017. In March 2019, she announced that she was pregnant with their first child.
