The main in front of the eponymous John K project stopped by the HollywoodLife studios to chat about his new collaboration with Kelsea Ballerini, a remix of his hit song, “If We Never Met.” First breaking out in 2017 — when his song “OT” was featured by legendary DJ Elvis Duran — John K found himself back in the spotlight with his new track. Within the span of a year, he signed with Epic Records, released a new EP, and had a hit song. Yet, he remained utterly humble about his rising success.
“This is the focus track because as a new artist, this is a message I could see myself completely getting behind being,” he said. “When I signed, I rolled into the label with like eight people. I was like, this is who I am. My team makes me real.” John K kept it real while talking with HollywoodLife about his collaboration, why he loves pop music, and what’s next for this superstar-in-the-making.
