James McAvoy

James McAvoy — James McAvoy, 42, has been entertaining moviegoers and TV fans since 1995, when he made his debut in The Near Room. The Scottish actor has only gotten more and more popular as his career has gone on. He’s taken on a number of different roles in critically acclaimed movies and TV shows.

To superhero fans, he’s probably best known as Professor Charles Xavier in the X-Men franchise. He’s also starred in movies like Atonement (2007) or M. Night Shyamalan’s Split. Other than some of the dramas he’s starred in, James has taken on a few roles in family flick’s like Arthur Christmas (2011), Sherlock Gnomes (2018) and Muppets Most Wanted (2014).

Offscreen, James also dated and eventually married his Shameless co-star Anne-Marie Duff in 2006. The pair had one son, Brendan, together in 2010, but they divorced in 2016.
