Jackée Harry — born Jacqueline Yvonne Harry — is most famous for her iconic role as Lisa Landry on the ’90s sitcom “Sister, Sister.” But her acting resume extends far beyond the family-favorite show! After a two-year stint as a high school American history teacher, the actress made her Broadway debut in “A Broadway Musical” in 1978. She appeared in more stage productions like ” Lady Day at Emerson’s Bar and Grill” and “A Christmas Carol” throughout her career, and made similar waves on the small screen. She landed her first television role in “Another World” in 1983, and eventually landed one of her biggest gigs on the NBC sitcom “227” (1985-1990). Even before Jackée moved on to “Sister, Sister” in 1994, she was honored with a groundbreaking accomplishment. The actress became the first African American person to win an Emmy for “Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Comedy Series” in 1987, a trophy she won for her beloved portrayal of Sandra Clark in “227.” She will be starring as Mrs. Bennet in the 2019 TV movie, “Pride & Prejudice: Atlanta.”
