GAYLE — “Who I was told to be and who I wanted to be were two separate things for me growing up,” writes GAYLE in her official bio. The young girl knew from an early age that she wanted to be a musician. From the first time tha her mother introduced her to the power of song – thanks to a 30 minute compilation of Aretha Franklin singing – GAYLE knew that a life in music was what she wanted most of all. The Dallas, Texas native began working on her career when she was just ten years old, traveling back and forth to Nashville in order to pursue her singer-songwriter ambitions. When she was twelve, she relocated to Music City permanently, and focused on releasing her first singles. 2020 saw her put out “Z,” “Dumbass,” “Happy For You,” and “Orange Peel,” and these independently released singles started to build a buzz.

After signing with Atlantic Records/Arthouse Records, Gayle released ‘ABCDEFU,’ a song that took off on TikTok and Spotify. It hit No. 8 on the Billboard Hot 100 and was certified Gold in the U.S. MTV also named Gayle as their February Global PUSH Artist.
