The biggest movie stars of the 2010s wowed audiences with stirring performances, fun interviews, and maintaining their prominent place in the pop culture lexicon. So many of these actors and actresses starred in big franchise movies, stirring independent dramas, and award winning vehicles. Between their work on screen, these performers also maintained an incredible presence off screen, with fun interviews and guest appearances, to great use of their social media platforms. Even more so, many of these actors and actresses used their prominent status to highlight vital issues and used their platforms to enact some form of change in their industry, while engaging their fans and followers in political conversations. So many of these actors and actresses also earned industry recognition with countless nominations and awards. In 2011, the actor joined the cast of ‘Thor’ as Heimdall and went on to star in the 2012 film ‘Prometheus,’ a pre-quel to Ridley Scott’s horror film ‘Alien.’ In 2013, the actor starred in ‘Pacific Rim,’ while continuing to reprise his role as Heimdall. 2015 was a major year for the actor, who earned incredible acclaim for his work in Netflix’s ‘Beasts of No Nation.’ He went on to provide voice work in the films ‘Zootopia,’ ‘Finding Dory,’ and ‘The Jungle Book’ in 2016, before starring in his 2017 film projects, ‘The Dark Tower,’ ‘Molly’s Game’ and ‘The Mountain Between Us.’ The actor rounded out his decade starring in the film ‘Fast & Furious Presents: Hobbs & Shaw’

Jennifer Lawrence wholly embodied the 2010s. The actress broke onto the scene with the 2010 film ‘Winter’s Bone,’ for which she was nominated for her first Oscar. In 2011 and 2012, the actress added two major franchises to her resume with ‘X-Men: First Class,’ and ‘The Hunger Games.’ 2012 also marked the year Jennifer won her first Oscar for ‘Silver Linings Playbook.’ Following the film, she continued to reprise her roles in the ‘X-Men’ and ‘Hunger Games’ franchises and earn two more Oscar nominations for her work in ‘American Hustle’ and ‘Joy.’ The star rounded out the decade starring in films like ‘Mother!’ ‘Red Sparrow,’ becoming the new face of Dior, and getting married.

Halle Berry’s star has never faded and maintained it’s place during the 2010s. The actress starred in the ensemble cast of ‘Cloud Atlas’ in 2012 and reprised her role of Storm in 2014’s ‘X-Men: Days of Future Past.’ In 2017, she joined the cast of ‘Kingsman: The Golden Circle,’ and rounded out the decade with ‘John Wick: Chapter 3 – Parabellum.’

While she was always a favorite on ABC’s ‘Fresh Off the Boat,’ the actress gained major notoriety with 2018’s ‘Crazy Rich Asians.’ She followed up the lauded film with the equally praised ‘Hustlers’ in 2019. During the 2010s, as her star rose higher, Constance used her voice to highlight inclusion and, specifically, the Asian American experience.

Natalie Portman began her 2010 decade with Oscar gold, winning her first Oscar for her performance in ‘Black Swan.’ She would go on to join the Marvel Cinematic Universe as Jane Foster in ‘Thor’ and the subsequent two sequels. Also in that time, Natalie became the global face of Dior. The actress would go on to earn her third Oscar nomination for her role as Jackie Kennedy in the 2016 film ‘Jackie.’ Natalie finished out the decade with powerhouse performances in ‘Annihilation’ and ‘Vox Lux’ (both 2018).

Chadwick Boseman quickly became one of the other most consistent stars of the 2010s. His big break came in 2013, when he played Jackie Robinson in baseball film ’42.’ He would go on to play another prominent figure in 2014’s ‘Get on Up’ as James Brown. By 2016, Chadwick joined the MCU as T’Challa/ Black Panther, and in 2018 earned his solo film of the same name.

Sandra Bullock started her decade off by winning an Oscar in 2010 for her 2009 film ‘The Blind Side.’ She went on to earn another Oscar nomination for her incredible performance in ‘Gravity’ while also joining Melissa McCarthy in the comedy ‘The Heat’ in 2013. In 2015, the actress returned to the big screen for the film, ‘Our Brand Is Crisis,’ and appeared in the ensemble cast of both ‘Ocean’s Eight’ and Netflix’s ‘Bird Box.’

The actor, who gained prominence on Netflix’s ‘House of Cards’ and ‘Luke Cage,’ earned wide acclaim and his first Oscar for 2016’s ‘Moonlight.’ Prior to his first Oscar winning performance, the actor also starred in the final two installments of ‘The Hunger Games’ series ‘Mockingjay.’ He continued to earn wide acclaim when he appeared in the ensemble film ‘Hidden Figures in 2016, and wen on to lend his voice for ‘Spider-Man: Into The Spider-Verse.’ He won his second Oscar for his role in the film ‘Green Book’ in 2019.
