Elizabeth Taylor & Her 7 Husbands: Photos — While she’s remembered as a movie icon, Elizabeth Taylor’s personal life is just as legendary. Her unmatched beauty and VIP suitors made Elizabeth’s love life a tabloid mainstay throughout her 79 years. The screen siren was married eight times, but only to 7 men, as Richard Burton had the honor of marrying – and divorcing – Liz twice. From her unions, she became a mother of four.

Here, the ‘National Velvet’ actress appears aboard the liner RMS Queen Mary with her first husband, hotel heir Conrad Hilton, in 1950. The pair wed in 1950 in a luxurious wedding with 600 guests and legions of fans rooting for the then-18-year-old bride from outside. Sadly, it wasn’t meant to be and the couple divorced just a year later. Years on, Elizabeth would admit she came into the marriage “very naive”.

Michael Wilding

Michael Wilding — After Conrad, Liz got together with English actor Michael Wilding. The duo, seen here in 1952 after their register’s office wedding, had two sons: Michael Jr., born in 1953, and Christopher, born in 1955. They divorced in 1957, however, amid rumors he was jealous of her rising star.

Mike Todd

Mike Todd — Elizabeth’s third husband was Mike Todd, seen together in Paris in 1958 here. They wed in 1957, shortly after her marriage with Wilding ended. Liz & Mike had a daughter named Liza, born in 1957 as well. Tragically, Todd died in a plane crash just a year later in 1958.

Eddie Fisher

Eddie Fisher — Elizabeth was married to singer Eddie Fisher in 1959, not long after the death of third husband Mike Todd. The relationship caused a stir, both for the proximity to Mike’s death and for the fact Eddie left his wife, actress Debbie Reynolds, for Liz. The duo divorced in 1964.

Richard Burton

Richard Burton — Elizabeth Taylor fell hard for Richard Burton while they worked on 1963’s ‘Cleopatra’ together, leading to the end of her marriage with Eddie. The famously tumultuous pairing got hitched in 1964 and divorced in 1974, only to reunite the next year and wed in Botswana. Things ended for good in 1976, however. The pair still remained friends over the years, and Liz confessed she was still “madly in love” with the actor when he died in 1984.

Richard adopted the actress’ daughters Liza and Maria, a German orphan whom Taylor was in the process of adopting while still married to Fisher.

The pair are seen her in Oct. of 1982 together after it was announced that they would team up again for their first Broadway play together.

John Warner

John Warner — Liz got political with hubby number 7, wedding Republican politician John Warner in 1976. (They are pictured in 1977 here). The pair were introduced when he was set up to escort the star to a Washington, DC banquet hosted by Queen Elizabeth at the British Embassy in 1976. They grew apart over the years due to their careers and parted ways in 1982. The pair remained friends, however.

Larry Fortensky

Larry Fortensky — Liz’s last hubby was Larry Fortensky, who she is seen with during the Berliner Archive Carousel of Hope Ball here. She met the construction worker, who was 20 years her junior, during a rehab stint at Betty Ford Clinic. They tied the knot in 1991 at Michael Jackson’s Neverland Ranch. They split in 1996, with Larry admitting life in the spotlight was not for him
