Election Night 2016 — The night of Nov. 8, 2016 was one of the most unforgettable in modern political history. The evening of the 2016 Election Night saw the final results between the tension-filled race for the White House come to a dramatic end. Hillary Clinton was the Demoncratic nominee, and, going into the evening, had a slew of polls projecting her to win.

However, everything changed when Republican nominee Donald Trump began to win key states, bringing his electoral college votes to a total higher than Clinton’s. By the time all votes were counted, Trump had a total of 304 electoral college votes, and Clinton had a total of 227. Clinton did, though, with the popular vote, garnering the support of 65,853,514 United States citizens compared to Donald Trump’s 62,984,828.
