Drake is arguably the biggest fan of basketball in hip-hop. At least, he’s the most visible. Though the Toronto-born rapper bleeds black, red, and purple for his hometown Toronto Raptors, he has no problem supporting other teams. His friendship with Steph and Ayesha Curry had Drake pulling for the Golden State Warriors (except when they lost against the Raptors in the 2019 NBA Finals.) Drake’s friendship with LeBron James often turned into a playful rivalry whenever the Cleveland Cavaliers ventured up north. However, since LeBron has been with the LA Lakers, Drizzy has had no problem supporting the purple and gold. Drake even shows up to a few high school games – specifically, the high school games where LeBron James’ son, Bronny, is playing. It’s why the NBA has had frequent “Drake Nights” to celebrate his fandom, and why he was picked to host the first ever NBA Awards in 2017.
