Dolly Parton is best known for being one of the world’s most famous country singers. She was born January 19, 1946 in Pittman Center, Tennessee and started performing as a child. She started off singing on local radio and television programs and was appearing on ‘The Cas Walker Show’ on WIVK Radio and WBIR-TV in Knoxville, TN when she was just ten-years-old.

She went on to start recording music when she was 13 and eventually released her debut album, ‘Hello, Dolly’, in 1967. Her career continued to rise and she ended up having 25 songs in the number one spot on the ‘Billboard’ country music charts. Although her albums stopped selling well in the 1990s, she took on the new millennium by getting back on the charts.

Since then, she has released more music on independent record labels, including her own, Dolly Records, and has paved the way for female artists in all genres of music. !
