‘Dollface’ premiered Nov. 15 on Hulu. The show follows Jules, a young woman who is dumped by her longtime boyfriend and must deal with her own imagination when she literally and metaphorically re-enters the world of women, in order to rekindle the female friendships she left behind. Kat Dennings stars as Jules, along with Brenda Song as Madison, Shay Mitchell as Stella, and Esther Povitsky as Izzy. The series was created by Jordan Weiss. Jordan told HL that the inspiration for the series is based on her life experiences. ‘I think I’ve definitely been a Jules, but I’ve also been a Madison. I think especially my college years, I could’ve put myself out there more in female friendships and I think that I would get a little overwhelmed and just close myself off,’ Jordan told HL at the show’s PaleyFest event.
