The Texas native relocated in Los Angeles to pursue his dreams of music superstardom. From working three minimum wage jobs at once (while still being ‘broke as hell’) to finally getting a foothold in the industry, De’Wayne knows those ‘blues.’ But, after working hard to find an audience for his brand of hip-hop, all that hard work is paying off. Dubbed the “New New Wave,” De’Wayne’s sound incorporates elements of punk, rock, industrial metal, and electronica. He cites Kendrick Lamar, The White Stripes, and Jimi Hendrix as influences, and his songs show this cross-genre mind. With cutting-edge beats and sharp verses, fans better get onboard with De’Wayne before he blows up. Not being able to see my family made it even harder. It was pretty much what I signed up for though, I’m more thankful than anything that there is a little more stability for me now than when I first got here.” November 12, 2019, 3:25PM 3 of 5 De’Wayne Performs The NEW NEW WAVE Courtesy of Dr. Martens “It’s a new wave of hip-hop and rock, along with electronic and industrial influence,” De’Wayne Jackson tells HollywoodLife when describing his take on hip-hop. “The NEW NEW WAVE.” November 12, 2019, 3:25PM 4 of 5 De’Wayne Jackson Performs In 2017 Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock De’Wayne Jackson MDDN presents ‘Chase Atlantic’, Los Angeles, USA – 26 Jan 2017 November 12, 2019, 3:25PM 5 of 5 De’Wayne Jackson Looks Into The Future Chelsea Lauren/Shutterstock De’Wayne Jackson performs at ‘Chase Atlantic’ in 2017. “Through songs, you can see pictures if you listen closely enough, so that’s the goal.
