Robert Dean Stockwell was born on March 5, 1936. As a young boy, he would dive head-first into acting, securing his first on-screen role in ‘The Valley of Decision.’ From there, his career would take off, with him landing parts in ‘The Green Years’ and ‘Abbot and Costello in Hollywood.’ As a teen, he was cast in ‘The Boy With Green Hair,’ and while it was a flop at the time, it has gained some new appreciation in the following decades. As a young man, Dean would find renown and critical acclaim in the film adaptation of the Broadway plan ‘Compulsion’ (he won the Best Actor award at the 1959 Cannes Film Festival.) In the 1960s and 70s, Dean’s career would take off – and he would dip in and out of acting, falling in and out of love with the profession. In the 1980s, Dean experienced mainstream success with ‘Married To The Mob’ and his most notable role – Admiral Albert ‘Al’ Calavicci on ‘Quantum Leap.’

After retiring in 2015, Dean Stockwell passed away in 2021 from natural causes.
