Joel Thomas Zimmerman, more popularly known as Deadmau5, is a Canadian electronic music producer, DJ, and musician. Zimmerman has gained much popularity over the years with his progressive house music, and signature mouse-shaped mask.
He dropped his debut studio album, ‘Get Scraped’ on July 26, 2005, and then went on to collaborate with other legendary EDM artists later on in his career. Throughout the years, he has worked a lot with the likes of Tiësto and Armin van Buuren. In 2007, he worked on Tiesto’s project ‘Search of Sunrise 6: Ibiza,’ and Armin van Buuren has had him on his radio show, ‘A State of Trance,’ several times.
Deadmau5’s work has certainly not gone without any critical acclaim or recognition either. Zimmerman has received a whopping six Grammy Award nominations: Dance/Electronic Album (in 2012, 2013, and 2015), Dance Recording (2012), and Remixed Recording, Non-Classical (in 2009 and 2012).
