‘Deadliest Catch’ returned for season 16 on April 14. This season, the Alaskan crab fleet will facing off against the Russians. The Russians have revamped their crab quota system and cutting down on illegal fishing. With this move, the price of King Crab is going to skyrocket, making this the most competitive season yet. Captain Jake Anderson, at the helm of The Saga, calls in one of his closest friends: Bering Sea legend and Time Bandit Skipper Johnathan Hillstrand. Johnathan is coming out of retirement for what he hopes is a historic payday. Captain Scott Campbell Jr. returns as well in the hopes for a multimillion-dollar payday. Northwestern Captain Sig Hansen is looking ahead to his most profitable season yet. He decides to get a jump start on the competition with his daughter Mandy, 24, at the helm for the first solo trip of her young career. Wild Bill Wichrowski also returns as captain of the Summer Bay.
