‘Dawson’s Creek’ aired nearly 30 years ago. Take a look at the beloved cast then and now.
Dawson’s Creek premiered on January 20, 1998, and quickly became a defining show for a generation of viewers. With stars like James Van Der Beek, Michelle Williams, and Katie Holmes, and Joshua Jackson, audiences were drawn to the dramatic coming-of-age stories that unfolded over six seasons. Since the series ended in 2003, the cast has remained active in Hollywood, building successful careers across film and television.
James continued to work steadily on the small screen, appearing in series like Pose and Ugly Betty, and even competing on Dancing With the Stars in 2019. Unfortunately, he died in February 2026 at age 48 following a battle with colorectal cancer.
Katie’s personal life became a major point of public interest after she married Tom Cruise in 2006 and welcomed their daughter, Suri Cruise, that same year. The couple divorced in 2012, and Katie has since focused on raising Suri while continuing to act, direct, and produce. She has also remained connected to her Dawson’s Creek roots, recently reuniting with Joshua at a New York City event in April 2026.
Michelle has gone on to earn four Academy Award nominations for her work in films Brokeback Mountain, Blue Valentine, My Week With Marilyn and Manchester By The Sea.
Even after all these years, the love for Dawson’s Creek is still in the air. See photos of the cast then and now.
