Damson Idris (b. Sept. 2, 1991) is a British actor. He is best known for his work on the FX drama ‘Snowfall,’ a series detailing the affects of the crack epidemic on the US in the early 1980s. Damson plays Franklin Saint, a drug dealer who rises and falls during the plight – and the role introduced American audiences to this rising talent. Hailing from a Nigerian immigrant home, where Damson was the youngest of six children, he grew up hoping to be a soccer star, but chose to focus on acting under the urging of one of his sisters. The bet paid off. He studied Drama at Brunel University, graduating with a BA in Theatre. He trained at London’s School of Acting, and soon experienced his first taste of success. He landed a role in ‘Pandora’s Box,’ a play that led to more work…and ultimately, he landed the part in ‘Snowfall.’
While ‘Snowfall’ concluded in 2023, Damson’s star continued to rise. Here’s a look at him.
