Da Brat (real name Shawntae Harris) is considered to be one of the greatest female rappers of all time. The Chicago born emcee made history when her debut 1994 album Funkdafied sold one million copies, making her the first female solo rap act to receive a platinum certification. That effort earned her many accolades including two Billboard awards and a Soul Train Lady of Soul honor.

Her musical career continued to flourish over the years with other hit records like “What’chu Like” featuring Tyrese and “That’s What I’m Looking For.” She was also featured on Lil Kim’s “Not Tonight” remix in 1997 with Missy Elliott, Angie Martinez and Lisa “Left Eye” Lopes that earned all of them a Grammy nomination for Best Rap Performance by a Duo or Group one year later.
