Cynthia Erivo is an award-winning actress and singer who first gained fame on Broadway. In 2016, Cynthia starred as Celie in the musical adaptation of The Color Purple, which won her a Tony Award for Lead Actress in a Musical, a Grammy Award for Best Musical Theater Album and a Daytime Emmy Award.
Her star power continued to rise, as she switched to film, with roles in Widows opposite Viola Davis, and Bad Times at the El Royale with Chris Hemsworth and Dakota Johnson. She later portrayed Harriet Tubman in the 2019 biopic, Harriet. In 2024 and 2025, Cynthia gave the world a memorable performance as Elphaba, the Wicked Witch of the West, in Universal Pictures’ two Wicked movies.
