Dave’s not here, man. Cheech Marin and Tommy Chong — aka Cheech & Chong — are two of the biggest names in comedy’s history. Take a look at these trailblazing comedians.

From the first time these two met in Vancouver, British Columbia in the 1960s to the day you are reading this, Cheech & Chong have had an influence on culture, comedy, and life as we know it. Really. No, really.

The comedy duo formed in the Sixties, and put together their first self-titled album in 1971. In 1978, their debut film, ‘Up In Smoke,’ hit theaters and was a smash it. By then, the two had four Gold-certified albums to their name, a Billboard Top 10 hit, and a legacy of pioneering the stoner comedy genre. While their output diminished at the start of the 1980s – due to the pair having a falling out – they reunited and continued to work together and separately for the next four decades. The two continue to perform together and have expanded into the legalized cannabis market – a market that exists thanks to their comedy destigmatizing the use of cannabis.
