Christina Applegate (left) has become the latest celebrity to be diagnosed with Multiple sclerosis. The ‘Dead to Me’ actress revealed the difficult news on Aug. 10, sharing via Twitter that she was diagnosed with the disease months prior. “It’s been a strange journey. But I have been so supported by people that I know who also have this condition,” she said. Christina did not reveal the extent of her symptoms of MS, an autoimmune disease which causes the body to eat away at its own nerve tissue. MS is known to sometimes lead to pain, fatigue, vision issues and impaired coordination, and there is sadly no cure for the the disease, though there are ways for patients to treat their symptoms and pain.

Like Christina, other celebs have been diagnosed with MS such as Selma Blair, Jack Osbourne and Jamie-Lynn Sigler. They’ve all been open about their battles, and have continued to fight against the disease. To learn about the stars with MS, click through the gallery.
