Snoop Dogg is a rapper, well-known for his affinity for marijuana. He’s even teamed up with BIC for EZ Reach Lighters. He even starred in a Super Bowl ad alongside Willie Nelson, a country star also known to enjoy smoking.

“My BIC EZ Reach Lighter is a staple for all my daily lighting needs,” he said in a statement. “Man, I love Willie, but I need my lighter back. If I know Willie like I think I do, he’s likely toured some herb-friendly cities recently and I bet you it’s in one of those hard to reach places. Help me get my lighter back, America!”

Shavo Odadjian is known as the bassist for System of a Down, and trap group North Kingsley. He’s also the founder of 22Red, a company aimed at creating an amplified cannabis lifestyle that celebrates the creative process.

“It didn’t start as a weed brand,” Shavo told HollywoodLife. “The thought process was having a brand that had clothing for the culture, like a lifestyle brand. I felt like there are so many brands out there, but I felt like I could make a difference because I wanted to make great apparel with comfortable, great fabrics, the designs being cool — not copy what was happening. We’d come up with stuff and start trends.”

Cheech Marin

As one half of the countercultural comedy duo synonymous with smoking up, Cheech Marin is a lover of all things cannabis. He even launched Cheech & Chong’s Cannabis Co., a company providing product to their lines of Cheech’s Stash, Tommy Chong’s Cannabis, and Cheech & Chong’s Takeout Service.

“It’s a tough business actually to make money in it because there’s so much competition,” Cheech told HollywoodLife. “And the price of weed went down from a thousand dollars a pound to a hundred dollars a pound.”

Tommy Chong, the other half of Cheech & Chong, served nine months in prison after he was busted in 2003 for selling paraphernalia – glass pipes commonly referred to as ‘bongs’ – over the Internet. He served his time and documented it in his book, The I Chong: Meditations from The Joint.

Early on in his life, he “developed a sense of being alone in the world,” he told HollywoodLife, “and it’s a feeling I keep with me today.”

He also launched a line of gummies called MIKE BITES, offering them in D-8 or D-9 variants. An ear with a bite taken out of it decorates every bag.

Woody Harrelson has been a proud proponent of legalization and for the commercial use of hemp (the THC-less version of cannabis.) In 2023, he co-owned a dispensary in West Hollywood featuring a koi pond and macaws. ” “It’s just a little dream of what a great dispensary could be,” he told CBS News.

There was a time when Woody gave up cannabis. “I wanted to be emotionally available,” he said, “to my family, to my friends. It was a good experiment.”

In 2011, Justin Timberlake admitted that he smoked cannabis in a Playboy interview, per Us Weekly. ” “The only thing pot does for me is it gets me to stop thinking,” he said. “Sometimes I have a brain that needs to be turned off. Some people are just better high.”

However, he married Jessica Biel in 2012. In 2015, they welcomed their son, Silas. In 2020, their second child, Phineas, was born. It’s unclear if Justin maintained his usage in the decade since the admission.

Amy Poehler opened up about her use of pot in her memoir, Yes Please. In the section titled “Obligatory Drug Stories,” she ran down her past usage.

“I can’t perform, drive or write stoned, and therefore I smoke pot a lot less than I used to,” she said about Cannabis, per High Times. “The next day is the thing I can’t pull off anymore. How do you explain to [your kids] that you can’t play Rescue Bots because you have to spend all day in bed eating Cape Cod potato chips and watching The Bicycle Thief?”

Rihanna has been public about her love affair with cannabis. When she was pregnant with her and A$AP Rocky‘s first child, she told Vogue that cutting out weed was a challenge. “I was bracing myself for something insane because I knew I wouldn’t have my usual coping mechanism: I can’t just go and smoke a joint right now,” she said. After announcing her second pregnancy in 2023, it was clear she was on another maternity-mandated tolerance break.

Morgan Freeman

Morgan Freeman argued against cannabis prohibition in 2015. “I have fibromyalgia pain in this arm, and the only thing that offers any relief is marijuana,” he told The Daily Beast. “They’re talking about kids who have grand mal seizures, and they’ve discovered that marijuana eases that down to where these children can have a life. That right there, to me, says, ‘Legalize it across the board!’ “

“They used to say, ‘You smoke that stuff, boy, you get hooked!’” he said with a laugh. “My first wife got me into it many years ago. How do I take it? However it comes! I’ll eat it, drink it, smoke it, snort it!”

Lady Gaga

Lady Gaga revealed her love for cannabis in her Netflix documentary, Gaga: Five Foot Two. She continues to battle fibromyalgia, and she revealed that she smoked a ton of weed in front of her “Telephone” collaborator, Beyoncé.

“That was the night I gave Beyoncé, like, a panic attack,” Gaga said. “I don’t know, I just always feel like when I’m with her and Jay-Z, I’m always like hanging out in the corner with like nine joints hanging out of my mouth being like ‘Whaaaaat’s up?!’ and she’s like ‘You’re not a lady but why? How is this working?’”

However, as one can be addicted to any substance, Gaga said in 2013 that she found herself overly reliant on cannabis. “I have been addicted to it, and it’s ultimately related to anxiety coping, and it’s a form of self-medication, and I was smoking up to 15-20 marijuana cigarettes a day with no tobacco,” she said, per High Times.

Speaking of Jay-Z, he launched Monogram, his first cannabis line, after partnering with The Parent Company (TPCO). TPCO is a publicly traded company created with the intention of dominating the California cannabis market, per GQ. Jay-Z hasn’t built himself as a stoner, but his involvement as “chief visionary officer” makes him a fan of the flower in one way or another.

It should be noted that in March 2023, TPCO was sued over gender discrimination, filing erroneous financial reports, and illegally shipping products over state lines, according to MJBizDaily. TPCO denied all allegations.

Drake is also involved in the cannabis market. In 2021, he partnered with his OVO co-founder, Noah “40” Shebib, to become an investor and strategic advisor in Bullrider. 40 created the brand’s namesake strain, Afghani Bullrider, as a “life-changing product” to help him with his battle with “multiple sclerosis,” per HypeBeast. Drake was expected to ” play a role in advising and helping with strategy as part of the brand’s mission to bring an unmatched cannabis experience to the North American market.”

“I’ve always viewed 40 as the expert when it comes to cannabis so I’m very excited to invest, partner and contribute to setting a new standard for a premium cannabis experience,” said Drake in a press release.

Erykah Badu

In 2023, Erykah Badu teamed with Berner’s Cookies to launch That Badu. ” “It feels good; it feels like a long time coming for me,” Erykah told Forbes. “We’ve been working on this collab for a couple of years, so we are finally connected and ready.”

“Women are under-represented in weed, definitely,” Badu said. “Cannabinoids for women is a very important issue for me. As a doula, I am very, very close to the use of cannabinoids in creams, oil, drops, sprays, flower, tinctures, teas, and edibles. Anything to relax the central nervous system. Women have particular biology that cycles and there are certain periods in the cycle when we need cannabis. Research will further this conversation and help change the narrative a bit when it comes to the taboos around women and cannabis.”

Kristen Stewart isn’t going to apologize if you don’t like that she enjoys cannabis. “You can Google my name, and one of the first things that comes up is images of me sitting on my front porch smoking a pipe with my ex-boyfriend and my dog,” she told Vanity Fair in 2012. “It was taken the day [Twilight] came out. I was no one. I was a kid. I had just turned 18. The next day it was like I was a delinquent slimy idiot, whereas I’m kind of a weirdo, creative Valley Girl who smokes pot. Big deal.”

The cartoon, to which Pete lent his voice, was based on the cannabis counterculture comics created by Gilbert Shelton.

Jenny Lewis, best known for her role in the rock band Rilo Kiley, launched her line of cannabis in 2019. Collaborating with Glass House Farms, she released “The Rabbit Hole,” a strain that is a “sativa flower of Sour Diesel origin. Each joint delivers an herbal flavor and a euphoric head high, which is matched with a mild and soothing body high. It can hit hard with a paranoid onset, but just sit down and let it pass. Then you can crash on the couch in peace.” It got rave reviews from A Proper High, despite having a relatively tame THC count of %16.3.

This wasn’t The Game’s first foray into cannabis. In 2016, he partnered with G FarmaBrands to launch “G Stiks” and “G Drinks,” cannabis-based products for medical and “adult use.”

“As an award-winning recording artist, star, and icon, The Game embodies the true spirit of the marijuana culture,” said Ata Gonzalez, founder of G FarmaBrands, in a press release to Billboard. “He understands the plant and is a firm believer in us as a company and our dedication to setting the industry standard through quality and innovation.”

The Bellamy Brothers

The Bellamy Brothers partnered with Florida-based cannabis provider Trulieve in 2020 to launch “Old Hippie Stash.” Florida has legalized the medicinal use of cannabis, which was one of the reasons behind the country stars’ decision.

“Medical marijuana has really great health benefits when used responsibly,” David Bellamy told Billboard. “I know it’s helped Howard and me on many levels. There was a stigma for so long, but now people are talking about it seriously and considering cannabis as an alternative for stress, anxiety, pain management, and many other health factors.”

In 2022, the Bellamy Brothers worked with Trulieve to get a proposed constitutional amendment on the 2024 ballot, which – if passed – would allow the recreational use of cannabis by anyone 21 or older.

” As we travel the country, we see the benefits of adult use, and as Florida residents, we love the ‘freedom state’ moniker and believe that Florida needs to join the millions of Americans whose adults are free to use cannabis without fear of being incarcerated,” the brothers said in a message, per WUSF News.

He teamed with 710 labs to create the ItsPurpl line, featuring variants of the Purple Urkle strain. “The thing that always stood out to me was there no clear brand leader for fire purple weed,” Jaleel told Forbes. “It made no sense to me, that no company of significance had claimed this lane, so why not me?”

“To smoke the end result from such a quality pod has been surreal,” he added. “I feel a little bit like Willy Wonka, the flavor came out so similar to grape candy

He began to market the strain in 2016, and since then, the brand has expanded to include accessories and apparel.

Wiz Khalifa also loves Stundenglass, who has partnered with Khalifa’s Taylor Gang to launch the Taylor Gang branded infuser.

“Designed for functional versatility, the Taylor Gang X Stündenglass Gravity Infuser is a complete set that includes an aluminum hookah bowl kit and a glass liner, but can also connect to any smoking or vaporization device with a 14mm male joint. Harrington now has operations in California, Colorado, Michigan, Oklahoma, Oregon, and Washington, and generated about $20 million in revenue last year,” writes Forbes.

The company is valued over $100 million, and while the company is expanding into more markets, thanks to decriminalization efforts, Al hopes that Viola can provide help to communities unfairly targeted by cannabis prohibition.

Snoop’s BFF Martha Stewart even got into the cannabis market by selling a line of CBD wellness products. She sells a line of Marthat wellness gummies, recovery cream, and other CBD products.
