The funeral of Andre Leon Talley brought out the best and brightest in the fashion world to pay their respects to the late industry icon. Anna Wintour, Naomi Campbell, Karlie Kloss, Martha Stewart, Gayle King, Marc Jacobs and Kimora Lee Simmons were just a few of the A-listers to arrive in New York City on April 29, 2022 for the service.
Andre was first mourned by his fashion peers when he passed away from a heart attack at the age 73 in his New York City home on January 18, 2021. The North Carolina native won a legion of fans as the first Black creative director and later editor-at-large of American Vogue. Before joining the publication in 1983, he worked at Andy Warhol’s Interview Magazine and Women’s Wear Daily. Later in his career, he could be seen as a judge on America’s Next Top Model.
