Carole King Through The Years: Photos Of The Singer-Songwriter Then & Now — Carole King is a legend of singing and songwriting, with a career spanning over seven decades. The talent, born February 9, 1942, started off her career writing hits for other artists before breaking out solo in the 70s with her second album ‘Tapestry’.

Responsible for songs like “You’ve Got A Friend”, “So Far Away”, and “It’s Too Late”, Carole is one of the most successful female songwriters of the 20th century, having written or co-written 118 pop hits on the Billboard Hot 100. She is the recipient of four Grammy Awards and was inducted into the Songwriters Hall of Fame in 1987.

She has been married four times: first to songwriting partner Gerry Goffin from 1959 to 1968), then to Charles Larkey, Rick Evers, and Rick Sorenson.
