Carley Patterson is an American singer, songwriter… and oh yeah, former Olympic level gymnast (NBD!). She has particularly made a name for herself as an artistic gymnast, or in other words, an athlete trained in the performance of short routines (ranging from about 30 to 90 seconds) on different apparatuses.
She began her professional training all the way back in 1994 under the supervision of Coach Yohanan Moyal (former Israeli Olympian). And then started competing internationally in 2000 at the age of 12 years old. The first competition she participated in was at the Top Gym Tournament in Belgium, where she won the silver medal in the all-around and the bronze on balance beam.
One year later, she competed at the Goodwill Games in Brisbane, Australia, and then in 2003 took on her senior career by winning the American Cup, in which (we also might add) she was the youngest competitor ever.
