Brooke Valentine (born Kanesha Nichole Brookes) is an American singer, actress, and model. She gained stardom when she joined the cast of the one and only Love & Hip Hop: Hollywood back in 2014. In the fourth season of VH1’s hit reality show, we got to see the ins and outs (as well as the ups and downs) of the star’s life.
Some of those downs included struggling to build her music career all while being a mom to a son who suffers from cerebral palsy, as well as a wife to a rapper, who, well, uh, suffers from commitment issues.
However, luckily, the ups in her life have been pretty spectacular! For starters, the Houston, Texas native is signed with Virgin Records, under which she dropped her debut hit single “Girlfight.” This song featured Lil Jon and Big Boi and peaked at #23 on the Billboard Hot 100, and then #13 on the R&B chart.
