The re-boot series, comprised of six episodes, premiered August 7, 2019 on FOX, and was Executive Produced and written by the two co-stars — as fans may recall, Tori’s father, Aaron Spelling, was the original creator of the show. In the storyline, the characters re-unite for their high school reunion and, even though so much time has passed, drama ensues. While the ‘90210’ franchise has had many spinoffs and re-boots, the new series is intended to pick up 19-years after the original ended and not include storylines from The CW’s version. The new series also features most of the original cast, including Shannen Doherty, Jason Priestly, Brian Austin Green, Gabrielle Carteris and Ian Ziering — and also intends to pays tribute to Luke Perry, who passed away of a stroke unexpectedly at the age of 52.
