Ben Platt is best known for being an American actor, singer, and songwriter. He began his career in theater from a young age, appearing in Broadway productions, such as The Music Man (2002). The most popular musicals he’s probably had the pleasure of taking part in are ‘Book of Mormon’ (2012–2013) and Dear Evan Hansen (2015–2017), which have both received multiple awards.
In the former, Platt was cast as Elder Arnold Cunningham, a character he first portrayed on the show’s premiere on December 19, 2012.
As for the latter production, Platt portrayed the role of Evan Hansen at Second Stage Theatre starting in 2016. The thespian put on his final performance on November 19, 2017. One of the many awards he has won for this role are the Tony Award for Best Actor in a Musical.
In addition to theater roles Platt has taken on roles on the big screen. Films he has appeared in include ‘Ricki and the Flash’ and ‘Billy Lynn’s Long Halftime Walk.’
