While studying at New York University Law school, Amal interned for Sonia Sotomayor, then a federal judge, now a Supreme Court Justice. Because of her unparalleled work with human rights cases, Amal frequently speaks at the United Nations.

Amal married actor George Clooney in September 2014, at the City Hall in Venice, Italy. In February 2017, George’s friend, actor Matt Damon, spilled the beans and told the world that George and Amal were expecting twins. She gave birth to Ella and Alexander Clooney in June 2017.
