An appeal court has on 25 April 2018 upheld the ruling by the High Court and rejected the challenge against the ruling made by the parents of terminally-ill toddler Alfie Evans. The government in Rome has granted Alfie Italian citizenship in a bid to bring him to Italy but the British courts have refused to allow the child, who continues to fight after being taken off life support earlier this week, to be transferred to Italy.
