Alex Trebek: The ‘Jeopardy!’ Host’s Life In Photos — Alex Trebek was born on July 22, 1940 in Sudbury, Ontario, Canada, making him 80 years old at the time of his passing in 2020. He started hosting the revival for ‘Jeopardy!’ in 1984, and has been a favorite game show host ever since. His contract was to last through 2022, but sadly, the beloved host passed away on Nov. 8, 2020. Alex was strong throughout his fight with cancer, and hosted shows up to Oct. 29, 2020, just 10 days before his death.

Here, Alex is pictured on ‘Good Morning America’ in New York City on Feb. 21, 2019. Soon after his appearance, he announced in a video that he was diagnosed with stage four pancreatic cancer. In his video, he joked that he has no choice but to fight, since he has three more seasons in his ‘Jeopardy!’ contract.
