Glen Powell‘s latest role is being the ultimate dog dad to his furry friend, Brisket. After taking Brisket to the Los Angeles premiere of his new action film Twisters, Glen’s dog quickly went viral online. But does he appear alongside the Top Gun: Maverick actor in the tornadic movie? Hollywood Life has compiled everything you need to know about Brisket, below.
When Did Glen Powell Adopt Brisket?
The actor adopted Brisket over the summer of 2023 from Los Angeles’ Labelle Foundation. In July of that year, Glen shared a sweet Instagram carousel post, which featured a shot of him holding Brisket.
“It’s a ruff world out there, so I thought it was about time I hire a proper bodyguard… Meet BRISKET – 1.5 pounds of raw power,” Glen captioned the post. “Thank you to @thelabellefoundation for all the incredible work you do to advocate for dogs and for making me a dad. I can’t wait to tackle all the adventures of life with this guy!”
Does Brisket Appear in ‘Twisters’?
Glen’s dog does not appear alongside him in Twisters. However, he was on the set of the movie, Glen revealed during a July 2024 interview with USA Today. While opening up about moving from Los Angeles back to this home state of Texas, the Hitman actor noted that Brisket likes the new space.
“He’s gotten a lot of good cardio here in Texas,” Glen told the outlet. “He hasn’t experienced a Texas summer yet. We’ll see how he does. He actually has experienced a tornado. When we were on set of Twisters, that was, like, the first couple weeks I had him, we were on set when a tornado touched down.”
Did Brisket Appear in Any of Glen’s Movies?
Although Glen’s dog doesn’t appear in Twisters, the actor teased that Brisket could make a name for himself in show business. As he gushed over making Brisket an honorary cast member of the film, Glen teased via Instagram that he made an account for his pup.
“Shortly after being adopted, @hotbrisket joined the cast of Twisters and was quickly called ‘the Lassie of his generation,’ a carousel post of Brisket on set was captioned. “Rumors are swirling of him leading a Homeward Bound reboot that would crown him as ‘Hollywood’s King of the Animal Kingdom.’”
