Joe Scarborough is absolutely appalled at the behavior that was displayed as Donald Trump’s supporters stormed the U.S. Capitol on Jan. 6. Of course, he talked about the situation on his talk show, Morning Joe, and condemned the Capitol Police for how they handled the situation. Joe got audibly heated, raised his voice and even cursed as he expressed how angry he was.

“Is it just White people or is it Donald Trump supporters?” Joe wondered. “Why do you scream at people for walking across the street, three blocks away from the Capitol? Why are you not as bad a**es around the Capitol? But then, Trump supporters come in and you open the f***ing doors for them?! You open the doors for them and let them breach the people’s house! What is wrong with you!?”

Trump’s supporters gathered in Washington D.C. on Jan. 6 to show support for the president as Congress met to verify Joe Biden as the winner of the 2020 election. Ever since the Nov. 3 election, Trump has been adamant that votes were stolen from him, and contested the outcome that he lost. His loyal followers stood by him, and took it upon themselves to storm the Capitol building in protest.

The protests began after Trump spoke to his supporters who showed up in D.C. He continued to spew claims that the election was rigged, and promised that he would never concede to his opponent. Trump has been accused of inciting the violence and egging on his supporters to get so angry. As the situation escalated, he took to Twitter to urge people to “stay peaceful,” but faced extreme backlash for how he responded to the violence.

In a video posted amidst the chaos, Trump still insisted that the election was “stolen.” He praised the violent protesters as “special” and said that he “loved” them. “This was a fraudulent election,” he claimed. “But we can’t play into the hands of these people. We have to have peace. So go home, we love you, you’re very special.” The speech sparked outrage, and later in the evening, Trump’s Twitter account was locked for “repeated and severe violations” of the site’s Civic Integrity Policy. Celebrities also slammed Trump and his supporters for the horrific acts of violence that occurred during the protests.
