Jennifer Lopez is already seen as an icon within the music and acting industry, which is exactly why she was given the “Icon Award” at the Billboard Women in Music event on Dec. 10. People also regard the multi-hyphenate as a fashion icon too, but J.Lo decided to dial it back as she accepted her prestigious honor via video. J.Lo wore a woven knit cardigan as she delivered her acceptance speech, although she did add a touch of glam by wearing shimmery metallic eyeshadow on her stunning and ageless face.
"Being able to make music and continue to make music all these years has been one of my biggest blessings." – @JLo accepting the ICON Award at #BBWomenInMusic. 🏆

JLo is being presented with the Icon Award at the 15th annual event for “her impact on the music industry and the greater artistic community.” The then-actress/dancer released her first single “If You Had My Love” off her debut album On The 6 on May 11, 1999 and it went straight to number one. Ever since then she’s been a force to be reckoned with in both pop and Latin music for the past two decades. She joins other Icon Award winners including the legendary Aretha Franklin, Shania Twain, Mary J. Blige and Cyndi Lauper.
Jennifer has been crushing her red carpet style in a season where things have been cut back and controlled due to the COVID-19 pandemic and the protocols that have been going along with award shows. This is JLo’s second “Icon” award, as she received the title at the 2020 People’s Choice Awards on Nov. 15. For that occasion she wore a bright red Christian Siriano mini dress from his spring ’21 collection that featured a puffy ruffled top and skirt, with a fitted waist.

JLo then followed it up with a sexy two-piece Balmain silver sequin gown at the Nov. 22 American Music Awards red carpet. It featured a long sleeved top with a plunging cowl neckline. The crop top showed off her incredible abs, and her skirt fit around the singer’s hips and featured a slit all the way up to the top of her thigh. But that was nothing compared to her black sheer catsuit she wore on stage perform “Pa Ti” and “Lonely.” Over 20 years in the music industry JLo is still at the top of her game.
Outside of her accomplishments in entertainment, Jennifer is also giving back in a big way this holiday season: the New York native is partnering with Yoplait starting in January to help provide funds to food banks through the Lids to Feed America program. “Through my work with them I’ve learned that dairy is one of the most requested but least donated items at food banks,” Jennifer said in a release. “Dairy is a crucial part of helping kids grow and that’s why we’re launching this campaign – to donate funds to Feeding America, so they can provide foods, including dairy, to help our communities grow stronger.” No wonder she’s being given Billboard’s Icon Award.
