Emma Watson, a talented actress and a brilliant advocate for women’s rights, was the victim of an illegal hack on March 15, when someone took her personal photos and published them online. We aren’t the only ones who are furious about this appalling invasion of privacy, thousands of fans around the world rushed to Twitter to defend the sweet 26-year-old.
“Poor girl, She seems so sweet and innocent. Love her,” tweeted one outraged fan about the Beauty and the Beast star, while another said “don’t worry Emma Watson, we stand with you! #LGBT #Feminism #Vegan.” Some fans demanded action, saying “Whether the photos of @EmmaWatson are real or fake, this is an unfair attack on a woman’s privacy and we should all stand together #feminism.”

Emma’s team confirmed the leak after the photos were published, but insisted that none of the real pics showed Emma naked. “Photos from a clothes fitting Emma had with a stylist a couple of years ago have been stolen,” her publicist said. “They are not nude photographs. Lawyers have been instructed and we are not commenting further.” We’re glad that Emma is working with lawyers to punish whoever did this. Leaks like these need to stop.
