“Everyone talks about the soundtrack to their lives. Ten years ago, this was the soundtrack to my life,” Lauren said in the new intro. In the video, she’s driving in California, just like in the original opening — and of course, Natasha Bedingfield‘s “Unwritten” is playing. Then she changes the station.

“That was then, this is now,” the now 30-year-old Lauren says as a brand new track plays from her Porsche convertible. With that, you can see Lauren smiling in the rear-view mirror. “I cannot believe it’s been ten years since we made The Hills.” Girl, neither can we.

Now this is what we’ve been waiting for. The intro will air during MTV’s anniversary special, where Lauren will sit down and talk life then and life now. “We’re gonna take a look back at the show and reveal things that we haven’t talked about before,” she said in the first promo. Of course, she also admitted she is a little nervous since this is the first time in years she’s let the cameras back in.

A big difference in this special is also that all those people behind the cameras, that had become like a family to LC’s family during Laguna Beach, will now be revealing some secrets in front of the camera. Her parents, Kathy and Jim Conrad, who we met in the premiere of LB when they were remodeling that stunning house, will also make an appearance in the special, to explain that it never bothered them that their daughter was on TV, because she always handled herself with class.

Well not everyone did, but let’s stick to the positive and feel the rain on our skin for a while, shall we? The Hills: That Was Then, This Is Now will air on MTV on Tuesday, August 2 at 9PM ET. You can also watch the original opening below, just because you know you want to.
