Rihanna Performs ‘Diamonds’ In Honor Of Prince — Watch Emotional Video

So sweet. Rihanna dedicated her performance of 'Diamonds' to Prince during her 'Anti World Tour' concert in Calgary, Canada on April 21. Rihanna talked to the crowd about losing 'one of the greatest legends' before beginning her very emotional rendition. Watch it here! Rihanna wasn't born until 12 years after Prince started his amazing career, but she's well aware of the impact the icon made on the world during his time on Earth. So following his tragic death on April 21, the singer dedicated her performance of "Diamonds" to him during her Anti World Tour concert in Calgary, Canada later that night.

“[Today is] a sad day to music lovers, musicians, fans all over the world who lost one of the greatest legends,” Rihanna told her fans before continuing, “Prince, we will miss you. A lot of us have started making music and listening to music because of Prince, so right now I just wanna honor him, me and my crew, and you guys. Let’s shine some light to heaven for Prince right now.” And that’s when Rihanna and her fans did just that — they shined bright like diamonds. Rihanna burst into song and the entire crowd mourned Prince.

And Rihanna wasn’t the only one to do so. Jennifer Hudson and The Color Purple cast honored Prince with a moving tribute on April 21. Jennifer and the cast sang one of his biggest hits, “Purple Rain,” while also saying, “He said his music will live on and he will live through his music, so we want to keep him alive today with this song. As we all know, today we lost a legend. Jesus, we lost a legend who was a good friend of mine, Prince, who was dear to all of us.”

As HollywoodLife.com previously reported, Prince died on Thursday, April 21, after he was found unresponsive in an elevator inside his Paisley Park home. His cause of death has yet to be determined.
